It's safe to say Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo we definitely not on the same page prior to their breakup.
"I think everyone knows that, if it was up to me, we would just get engaged," the Southern Charm star admitted to costar Shep Rose during the Bravo series' Jan. 23 episode during a candid conversation that was filmed months before his December breakup from the Summer House star. "But she changes her mind a lot about stuff."
For instance, Craig recounted, "One day she'll text me and say, 'Let's build a f--king farm house in the middle of nowhere,' or, 'I'm moving to Charleston.' And then she'll have a good day in New York and be like, 'I love it up here.'"
And when Shep asked if Paige's unwillingness to commit to officially settling down put a strain on their relationship, Craig confessed, "It gets confusing."
In a confessional, the 35-year-old elaborated on his frustrations with his former girlfriend of three years.
"Me waiting a few years to have a kid, not a big deal," Craig shared. "But what I'm risking is what if Paige wants to turn those couple years into 10 years?"
However, that didn't mean the Pillows & Beer podcast cohost was ready to throw in the towel on their romance.
"I think that's life, right?" he asked Shep. "It's a bunch of decisions and compromise."
Ultimately, Paige's indecisiveness led to the demise of their relationship, which she announced last month—and it sounds like the decision to break up wasn't totally mutual.
"This has all been very, very unexpected, to say the least," Craig shared to his Instagram Stories earlier this month, hinting at a possible blindside by his ex. "I was very shocked and it's ok, it takes two people to be in a relationship. You can't control other people you can only control how you react to it."
The Sewing Down South founder also noted he was "still processing everything," adding, "I mean, three-year relationship, it's your best friend who you talk to all day, every day and then they're just gone. So one day I'll be able to talk more on it but right now I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind messages."
As for Paige's side of the story, the 32-year-old shot down rumors of cheating between her and her ex and insisted the parting of ways was amicable.
“No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” she noted during her Dec. 30 breakup announcement. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”
“I think he is one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life,” Paige continued of Craig. “I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”
