The most important hood to Snoop Dogg will always be fatherhood. Especially when it comes to his only daughter Cori Broadus.
The rapper recently got candid about why his relationship with the 25-year-old is unlike any others in his family.
"We have a very tight bond," Snoop—who also shares son Corde, 30, and Cordell, 27, with wife Shante Broadus in addition to son Julian, 26, from a previous relationship—told Us Magazine in an interview published Oct. 11. "She’s my only daughter. That in itself is special."
Cori echoed her dad, telling the outlet, "It’s a beautiful relationship. I’m the princess. He had two boys, and then me, his baby girl. It’s a different type of love. You have to be softer, more loving and caring and more sensitive and fragile."
Plus, Cori's lifelong health struggles have made the "Gin and Juice" musician even more protective.
As Cori recounted, "I got sick at 6 with lupus, and I think seeing his baby girl go through that. When you’re so young, you don’t know how to express how you feel. You just know that you’re sick and everybody else is okay. You feel like the outcast. That made us closer."
Their bond only grew stronger after Cori suffered a stroke earlier this year at the age of 24.
“It’s hard for me to revisit that day," Snoop admitted. "Anyone who knows me knows my daughter is my kryptonite."
"It’s reminded us to live every day like it’s your last and to lead with love," the 53-year-old added. "It put things into perspective. It also reminded us that we need to take care of our health and listen to our bodies."
Now, with the health scare behind her, Cori is focusing on her and fiancé Wayne Duece's wedding, which is featured on the E! special Snoop's Fatherhood: Cori & Wayne's Story. And while some ceremony details might still be in the works, Cori already knows she and Snoop will bring the house down with their father-daughter dance.
"Me and my dad are so gangster," she shared, "we will probably be crip walking or something."
