And the EGOT goes to...

Viola Davis has officially become the 18th EGOT recipient following her 2023 Grammy Award win for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording for her memoir, Finding Me.

The actress—who will also present at the Feb. 5 award show hosted by Trevor Noah—beat out Jamie Foxx, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Questlove and fellow EGOT winner Mel Brooks to obtain the highly coveted honor at the Premiere Ceremony, which was livestreamed on YouTube (Click here to see every winner).

"Oh my God," she said while accepting her award. "I wrote this book to honor the 6-year-old Viola, to honor her, to honor her life, her joy, her trauma, her everything."

"It has just been such a journey," she said. "I just EGOT!"

The Grammy Award now completes Davis' quest for EGOT status, which already included her 2001 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for King Hedley II, her 2015 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for How to Get Away with Murder and her 2017 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Fences.

2023 Grammy Nominations: Snubs and Surprises

Davis previously discussed the possibility of reaching EGOT level after Grammy voting had closed, admitting the academy should throw her a bone.

"I have to tell you—the Grammy thing. I'm a serious actor. I am," she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January. "I went to Juilliard; I feel it's about the work. It's like my niece Annabella, who had a meltdown at Circus Circus when she was 6 years old. Snot dripping and crying, and all she was saying was, 'I wanna win! I wanna win!' In my brain, with the Grammy, I'm like, 'I wanna win! I wanna win!'"

"There's something in me that says that I deserve it," Davis said of her competition. "All of them have already won it!"

Prior to 2023, Jennifer Hudson was the most recent addition to the list following her 2022 Tony Awards win. They are both joined by Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Robert Lopez, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, John Legend and Alan Menken, to name a few.
