Watch: Why Kim Kardashian Has a Dress Code for Her Employees

Kim Kardashian is all about keeping it simple.

Over the years, The Kardashians star has opted for the less is more approach. After all, she's known for rocking a monochromatic makeup look and decorating her home with minimalistic pieces. According to Kim, her aesthetics extends to her employees as well.

During an interview on Angie Martinez's IRL podcast, the SKIMS founder was asked if having a color-coordinated dress code was intentional.

"Absolutely. I have uniforms," she said on the Dec. 26 episode, before clarifying, "It's not like, 'Hey, this is your uniform. It's just color palettes."

Kim, who shared that she has a handbook for her employees, explained that her employees are able to wear "grays, heather gray, black, navy, white, cream, khaki" but noted that there's not a lot of color-blocking.

There's not only a method to the madness but, according to the reality TV star, her staff was relieved to have a simple fashion guideline.

"My house is so Zen," Kim explained. "So I asked how everyone felt about it and everyone actually said, 'That would make our life so easy.'"

She added, "And once everyone was on board and thought it would be easier for them, I was like let's do this."

This isn't the first time Kim has shared insight into why she has an affinity for minimalism. After introducing a home collection under her SKKN by Kim line, she opened up about why she chose concrete sculptures and various shades of stone.

"I find that there is so much chaos out in the world that when I come home, the minimalist design creates a sense of quiet and calm," she told Architectural Digest in September. "I've let my kids decorate their own rooms—they can go wild with whatever colors they want—but in the main part of the house, I really like the calmness minimalism brings."

Kim added, "For these new home accessories, I wanted to make sure they really complemented the skin-care line and were designed to display my products and elevate any home with modern, minimalistic elegance."
