Tate Returns
Evan Peters, who was already confirmed for AHS: Apocalypse as a new character, a hairdresser, will also play his American Horror Story: Murder House character, Tate Langdon. Ryan Murphy confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, "Tate. Happy to be home."
The Mystery Third Paulson
Sarah Paulson revealed she would be playing not one, not two, but three different characters in AHS: Apocalypse. Those characters are: AHS: Coven's Cordelia, AHS: Murder House's Billie Dean Howard and Venable. Who is Venable? That's still a mystery, but she appeared in character (we assume) in a Twitter video.
Dylan's Back
Dylan McDermott is returning as his American Horror Story: Murder House character. He previously appeared in AHS: Asylum.
Here's Connie
Connie Britton will return to the franchise for the first time since American Horror Story: Murder House.
A New Direction
Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will appear in the episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse that series star Sarah Paulson is directing. At TCA, Paulson announced Jessica Lange would appear in the episode she was helming, making it a big AHS: Murder House reunion. "Connie, Sarah and Dylan. The Harmon's are scaring up drama at The Murder House with Director Supreme Paulson," Ryan Murphy posted on Twitter.
Britton also posted photos on Instagram and said, "Harmon spin-off? Back in the #MurderHouse 7 years later...with the great @mssarahcatharinepaulson directing no less!
Witch, Please
Surprise, witches! Bet you thought you'd seen the last of the Coven. Most of the American Horror Story: Coven cast is back, including Stevie Nicks.
Jessica Lange Returns
Lange will return for one episode in season eight as Constance Langdon from Murder House. Sarah Paulson revealed the news during the show's TCA panel, and also revealed that she will direct the episode, which is the sixth in the season.
Meet Michael Langdon
The evil baby is back, and he's a little older and probably capable of even more evil now. Cody Fern, who appeared in The Assassination of Gianni Versace and also appears in the upcoming season of House of Cards, will play the older version of Vivien (Connie Britton) and Tate (Evan Peters).
A Title!
American Horror Story: Apocalypse is coming to our screens very soon and yes we are very much creeped out by the baby being poked by a demon fingernail in the new key art!
We're going to have to wait to find out what kind of apocalypse we're in for, but EP Alexis Martin Woodall revealed that "the story begins with the end of the world, and then our world begins."
Unlike Any Other Season
Other than Murphy's recent announcement, little is known so far about season eight of American Horror Story. We've only got a couple of confirmed stars, but what we do have, as usual, is a ton of excitement.
"I think we've never done a season like it," Ryan Murphy tells E! News. "It's all very, very dark but very funny."
Into the Future
Get ready to head to the future, which is when season eight takes place. "It's a projection story," Murphy said at TCA. At a FYC panel in Los Angeles Murphy said the season takes place 18 months in the future.
Evan Peters Returns
Peters will play a hairdresser in season eight, and he'll also reprise his Murder House role of Tate.
Kathy Bates Is Back
"Miss Kathy Bates is coming back, which I'm very excited about," Murphy tells E! News.
Bates did not appear in Cult due to starring in a Netflix comedy about pot, but we'll never forget her appearance in Roanoke as The Butcher. Or as The Actress Playing The Butcher. Now, her character is named Ms. Meade.
Welcome Back Adina Porter
At AHS: Cult's FYC panel, Murphy confirmed Adina Porter would return to the series. Murphy also said, "I will tell you that three of our leads are indeed minorities."
Porter will be playing someone named Dinah Stevens.
Even More Returning Faces
The cast for season eight of AHS also includes Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner and Cheyenne Jackson. Grossman says her character's name is Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt, and Eichner has posted photos of himself getting a cast made of his face.
Joan Collins Joins the Cast
Murphy revealed Joan Collins would appear in the season as grandmother to Peters. Collins shared her reaction to being cast on Twitter: "Excited about being offered American Horror Story such a brilliant show stay tuned!
